With over 25 years of managing systems,
15
years of experience is on Unix system's alone. Of the 15 years of Unix
system administration, over 10 years are on H.P. Unix systems. Also you
will see my last job was at H.P. in Cupertino with the H.P. Unix labs
that developed the latest and greatest HPUX 11.x. Although my strong
suit is with HPUX, I do have many years of Sun Solaris
experience. I pretty much cut my teeth in Unix on Sun Solaris
workstations and servers. You will also see that I have quite a bit of
Database experience as well. As I have worked with most all of the
major brands of Database servers in the industry, such as Ingres,
Informix and Sybase to name a few.
I am a self taught individual,
which not only
included the beginning years but has continued on to this day as I am
always learning new technologies and skills. This has also enabled me
to develop the skill to be self directing, allowing me to be able to
work with little direction. This does not mean thought that I am so
independent that I can not work as part of a team. I can work both
within or as lead of most any team. As you will see in my resume I have
several times successfully managed highly technical projects. Being a
systems administrator for some many years I have been able to
also hone my skill in diplomacy. As it has required me to be able to
interact with not only novice users and/or high technical engineers,
but with corporate management and 3rd party vendors.
But the most important quality I can bring to any organization,
is
the experience of 25 years of managing small and large Unix systems in
both research and production environments. I able to configure and
manage systems to bring out the best efficiency they have to offer.
